What is the best kind of machine for sewing paper crafts?
I am teaching myself how to sew accents on handmade greeting cards. The sewing requires working through 3-4 layers of paper. I just need to do basic straight stitches, zigzag patterns, and maybe even freestyle sewing, without battling the machine and getting crooked lines, like I do now.
I already have a sewing machine (Singer mo. 2662) that has the stitches I need, but it’s difficult to control the speed, which makes a mess if I use the foot pedal, or takes forever if I turn the sewing wheel manually. Since I want to invest in this for awhile, I am trying to research if there are machines specifically designed for sewing paper crafts, including for scrap-booking.
If there are machines for that purpose, are they any better than a regular sewing machine? Should I just get a better, regular sewing machine? Where can I look for more info on where paper crafters buy sewing machines? I don’t have a set price range, until I see what’s on the market. Just trying to do my research.
Thanks!
